\nUBIE is officially registered as an international non-profit organisation in Belgium. Ready to take the idea of basic income to a new level, and you can help us do this.<\/p>\n

Unconditional Basic Income Europe (UBIE) advocates for the implementation of Basic Income in Europe. In 2013, we collected 300,000 signatures across all EU member countries for this cause, and our alliance grew out of this effort.<\/p>\n

UBIE connects over 300 active members from 25 countries across the continent. They invest great amounts of their time, energy and money into organising regular meetings in cities all over Europe, developing projects to promote basic income and raising public awareness as well as support among decision makers. As a result, basic income is now on the agenda in the policy debates of many European countries.<\/p>\n

Almost 25% of the EU\u2019s population, or 122.6 million people, were at risk of poverty or social exclusion in 2013, the EU\u2019s statistics office Eurostat said on Tuesday (4 November 2014).<\/p>\n

Eurostat identifies a person \u2018at risk of poverty\u2019 as someone who is living in a household with an equivalised disposable income below the risk-of-poverty threshold, which is set at 60% of the national median equivalised disposable income (after social transfers).<\/p>\n
